Group Soviet Forces Germany (GSFG)

For nearly fifty years, armed forces from the Soviet Union occupied eastern Europe with the ultimate goal of westward expansion.  In 1989, the Soviet Union began the withdrawl of their forces from Eastern Europe.  In August of 1991, the communist regime of the Soviet Union fell.
