Plzen, Czechoslovakia

In the fall of of 1990, Bob, Rufus, Mary, and Mary's husband went to Plzen, Czechoslovakia.  This trip
occurred only months after the fall of the Berlin Wall and before the Soviet troops returned to the Soviet Union.

More Soviet soldiers. During the 1968 invasion of Czechoslovakia by Soviet Forces, Czech resistance fighters were killed while firing upon Soviet troops from the two front windows.  Note the bullet holes around the windows.  The Soviets left the bullet holes as a reminder to the Czech people that resistance was futile.  Today, the Czech people are free of the communists and a proud ally of the United States.
